Came for the Gilbert and Sullivan, iirc, stayed for the sarcasm and the writing advice and the excited flailing over maritime history.
I am the very model of a modern history blogger!
OKAY so obviously I became Aware of your blog because of the Les Mis stuff BUT I am wary of following Les Mis blogs at first because, like, what if the interest doesn’t last? And then they turn out to be super into, IDK,Anti-Waistcoat Propoganda. BUT then you were blogging stuff about Jeremy Brett Holmes and I saw this was a Good Blog. So that’s why I started following you.
aw pilf thank you! It is true that my Les Mis interest was an all-consuming fire that burned but briefly, so to speak, so I’m glad you found other reasons to stick around!
came for your marius art stayed for history
😀 well I can promise to always deliver the history at least, if not to be consistent with any period or topic.
Came for Les Mis, stayed for your art, your (as it has been already said here) commentary on everything, and art history hell :)
my Les Mis phase was very intense but also short-lived, so I’m glad you found other reasons to stick around! 🙂
100% agree with the hamilton/cabin pressure/anti-bbcsh*rlock anon, and also I love your art style!!
[2/2] “OH and the fact that your blog includes aubrey-maturin content just overall thanks for existing”

I’m on mobile so I can’t format this properly but thank you so much, that’s very sweet! I’m glad so many people are here for BBC sh*rlock bashing. :))))
Came for the Discworld art, stayed for the hilarious commentary
oh man, I need to do more discworld stuff. I used to reread (rerererereread more like) at least a few of the novels every year, but after Terry’s death I haven’t been able to face opening a single one. maybe I’ll change that sometime soon, since I did a few disc drawings for that meme the other day and didn’t cry at ALL.
