There is a frog outside croaking so loudly I can hear him even though all the windows and doors are closed. On one hand, I am proud of him. What a strong-lunged boi. On the other, I am very concerned for him. It is too cold for you to be awake, Mr. Frog. Please go back to sleep.

a number of frogs are actually freeze-tolerant (to a degree.), and, in any case it’s unlikely to get down below the upper 40s tonight, so your small neighbor will almost certainly be fine!

Name: Ducky! Meaning behind url: I’m super hyped for the new Decemberists single, it’s part of the lyrics. Hobbies/Interests: reading, hiking, ghost stories, collecting dead things, informal education. Why I follow: museum studies friend!!!!! Random fact about me: I am friends-ish with Jim Spann!!! Question for you: any cool ghost stories???? 😎

Hey Ducky! I had not been aware that they had a new single coming out, that’s something to look forward to (and then forget about until it’s already been out for a year, and then discover by accident, which is usually what happens with me and new music)! Those are some excellent hobbies, I gotta say. Especially the last one! And another museum person! [thumbs up emoji]

oh man I don’t know any ghost stories, I’m not, uh, into…. ghosts……… I’m boring, I’m sorry. 😦 (you should go ask tumblr user @focsle for ghost stories though, SJ is the confirmed Ghost Friend, and also a Museum Person)

Name: Ana Meaning behind url: I just really like jazz haha Hobbies/Interests: History, writing, and jazz music (I’m the pianist in a jazz combo) Why I follow: You post a lot of interesting things, I guess… I like the variety of your posts Random fact about me: I have two cats! Question for you: What’s your favorite musical instrument?

Hey Ana! I’m glad you’re enjoying my blog! pat ur kitties for me! 🙂

My favorite musical instrument would have to be… uh… to listen to, probably a violin fiddle? I like the sound of stringed instruments the most. I’m Not A Musical Person, though (I can’t sing and never learned an instrument), but my dad is a drummer so I tend to approach music from a percussion perspective, if that makes sense?

Hi! I’m Brenna, my URL is p much just syllables I thought sounded nice together. I’m into kickboxing, embroidery, & long walks on the beach. I heard of you from one of your viral posts & I’m going into museum work as well! Do you prefer science or art (or both!) museums?

Hi Brenna! Kickboxing sounds super cool, my roommate (the delightful and talented @pirisquills ) does jiu jitsu and I am always extremely Impressed by hobbies that include physical combat.

Another museum person! What kind of museum work do you wanna do?

I’m a natural history museum person through-and-through, although I prefer outdoor education to anything actually inside a museum.

hi, I’m mo! my tumblr url comes from my nickname and the fact that I like crows! fairly straightforward :) I’m a historian, so that’s a pretty big interest of mine! I also love drawing/painting, playing music, reading, knitting, and games. Name: Carly; Age: 31; Meaning behind url: it’s an anglicization of a latin word (aretalogus) that I thought sounded cool; Hobbies/Interests: Sadly/happily my hobbies are my job, which is working with rare books; Why you follow me: I posted some pictures when was in Seattle for work. @amarguerite asked me if I was there to see you. It was assumed we were already friends, and so I followed you; Random fact about yourself: I desperately need a haircut; Question for me: sweet or salty snackfood?

hi carly! wiki says that means prattler or babbler, which is a good choice for a blog name, I must admit. your hobby being your job isn’t sad, you’re just very fortunate! (I hope to be in the same boat soon!)

omg really? I feel like I knew you were in the Greater Pip Orbit (or possibly Greater Les Mis Brick Fandom Olds Orbit? margz is the main point of intersection between the two and I get a bit muddled who is coming from where, sometimes) but I did not know that was… how that happened.

sweet AND salty! I like salted caramel and similar.

hi! i’m Tarzi! iiiii followed you a few years ago because I had you as a giftee on the Good Omens Exchange, and I was like who is this amazing person? and then you turned out to be into the same things i was (Les Mis mostly). now we’re in the same professional field too which is kind of weird/cool (diff countries/coasts tho). i read Temeraire bc you were so into it, so there’s that. PS my url is a pun on the feline calici virus, except… with a cat colour in it… seemed legit at the time.

Hi!! I had no idea you got here via the GO exchange- that was ages ago, wow. And yeah it’s amazing how Museum People cluster, even unknowingly.

I had to google that virus- I have to admit, I’ve kinda low-key wondered about your url’s story for awhile
