Not Photoshopped! This is really what the Salish Sea looked like for a few weeks last August when forest fire season was at its peak across the province.
This is a shot of T019 “Mooyah” (middle) with her two offspring T019C “Spouter” and T019B “Galiano” in Boundary Pass, at about 6:30PM as the sun was falling into the band of sky with the most dense smoke.

I went on a whale watch in the Salish Sea today! We were out of Anacortes, but headed south down the west coast of Whidbey Island to Marrowstone Island, where we found a big “superpod” made up of five separate pods of transient Orca whales (T34, T36, T37, T99, and T65A). We got to watch them for about two hours while they hunted sea lions and played around the boat, even diving right under our bow twice, and leaping in our wake as we left, like the overgrown dolphins they are.

…basically what I am saying here, guys, is that today I got sneezed on by a whale and it was awesome
