every time someone tries to make me use APA (or, god forbid, MLA) I make a brave attempt to consider actually doing so, go look at the style guide, cringe, then go straight back to Chicago style and damn the consequences
hahaha yes my friend is with you at what we like to call “The Purple U-Dub” while I’m over here at “The Red U-Dub” in Wisconsin. Extra confusing!
you just need to know someone who goes to the University of Wyoming and you’ll have the full set!
UW has a tiny fucking design department. i mean, it exists, but there are no interesting electives offered and I just want to fulfill my interdisciplinaries with something where I get to be in a studio and also I… really need better graphic design skills but this ENORMOUS university just DOES NOT OFFER any relevant electives at the 400/grad level and I just… why this
god sometimes I miss the community of art school so much. I miss showing my work to people and getting actual critique instead of useless shit like ‘oh nice, looks good’
I had a great exchange with a very perky cashier on campus yesterday
her, looking bright-eyed despite the hour, and all of 18: are you excited for the long weekend? :)))
me, staring at her blankly: long weekend?
her, looking slightly concerned for me: um, y’know, memorial day?
me: ……….ah. here’s some free advice: don’t ever go to grad school.
her, laughing: oh, I thought you looked more tense than anyone else today!
that feel when you find a truly egregious typo in an official NPS policy document

@hideflen – I will join you in this corner. I’m already late to class today and I have a lit review a week overdue.
…..who wants to join our club?
half my program is at the AAM conference in st. louis this week so I took the opportunity to shamelessly skip class and enjoy the summery weather and I gotta say…. I don’t feel nearly as tortured and guilty about doing this as I did in undergrad

@gehayi – my thesis proposal: “alternatives to museums, from someone who has been working guest services all day: go outside. be in the outdoors. leave me and take your crying children with you. enjoy the sunshine somewhere that is not here. please. there is the exit.”
