new job has a part-time office cat (she belongs to the upstairs apartment, but she is indoor/outdoor and comes to visit us)
she is very friendly but today she hopped up on my lap and started kneading and I was paralyzed with ‘oh god what do I do with it?? will there be Claws if I try to lift??’ and telling her ‘off!’ was Not Working and I didn’t want to startle her into digging in her claws more
so my new boss had to rescue me from being sat on by the cat as I weakly explained that I’m a dog person
Today is Lunar New Year 2018, and it’s the year of the dog. Sled dogs were an integral part of Arctic and Antarctic exploration, but other dogs were sometimes brought along as pets. There’s no photograph of him, but a Newfoundland dog named Neptune was aboard the Erebus when it sailed into the Arctic. One can only assume he met the same fate as the majority of Amundsen’s dogs during the third Fram expedition.
