ohhh man I just finished the goblin emperor and I loved it. what a hopeful ending. maia is such a good boy…. who needs a hug….
nearly all the thinly veiled political metaphors in it were handled ham-fistedly but I love the characters so much I don’t even CARE that some of the main villains are murderous fantasy communists

the problem with listening to audiobooks all the time is I end up with no idea how to spell anyone’s names and, if the narrator has a non-rhotic accent, I end up assuming names have rs when they don’t
I went through a whole book thinking the main character’s surname was “marson” when it was, in fact, “mawson”
